Manufacturing Capabilities

Built for high-volume snack food production

Five production capabilities. SQF Level 3 certified. Keilor, Victoria.

Equipment

Manufacturing Equipment

Our Keilor facility runs dedicated production capabilities covering the full range of snack food formats we manufacture. Lines are configured for extrusion and bar forming, protein ball portioning and rolling, cluster pressing and binding, full chocolate enrobing and coating, and sachet and jar filling for nut butters and other liquids.

Each line operates independently, which means we can run multiple product formats concurrently. Equipment is maintained to SQF Level 3 standard with scheduled calibration and preventive maintenance programmes in place across the facility.

Capacity

Production Capacity

We produce tens of millions of units annually across our lines. Our facility runs scheduled production across a client base that includes major national retailers, high-growth health brands and private label suppliers, so we’re experienced at managing concurrent runs at the volume you need.

Capacity is allocated on a scheduled basis, with production windows confirmed at the quoting stage. We plan around your forecast rather than fitting you into spare slots, which means supply continuity is built into the relationship from the start.

We plan capacity across our full client base and can accommodate scaling without it becoming a problem down the track. Contact us to talk through your requirements.

Our Standards

Quality Assurance

Every batch produced at General Foods is subject to in-process quality checks at each stage of the production line. We don’t rely on end-of-line inspection alone. Critical control points are monitored continuously, with documented records maintained for every production run.

Our facility operates under a full HACCP plan covering biological, chemical and physical hazards from raw material intake through to finished goods dispatch. Corrective action procedures are in place and tested regularly.

Third-party audits are conducted annually by an SQF-licensed certification body. We also run ongoing internal surveillance audits between external assessments. Audit results and corrective action records are available to clients on request.

We can provide certificates of analysis, allergen declarations, nutritional data and full traceability documentation to support retailer onboarding, compliance submissions or regulatory requirements.

Ingredients & Sourcing

Raw Material Sourcing

We source ingredients from approved suppliers who meet our quality and food safety standards. All suppliers are assessed before onboarding and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Raw materials are inspected on receipt and held until quality checks are completed before entering production.

We maintain stable supplier relationships with a focus on ingredient consistency and supply continuity. Where ingredients have long shelf lives, we manage stock levels to reduce exposure to supply disruption. Raw material specifications are documented and available to clients as part of our standard onboarding process.

Standards and audit schedule

SQF Level 3

Safe Quality Food Level 3 is the highest tier of SQF certification, covering both food safety and quality management systems. It requires a fully documented food safety plan, comprehensive quality management procedures and a demonstrated culture of continuous improvement across the facility.

Level 3 is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is a requirement for supplying many major Australian retailers.

Audit frequency

Annual third-party audit conducted by an SQF-licensed certification body, plus ongoing internal surveillance audits.

HACCP

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points is a systematic, science-based approach to identifying and controlling biological, chemical and physical food safety hazards in the production process.

Our HACCP plan covers every stage of manufacturing from raw material receipt through to finished goods dispatch, with documented critical control points, monitoring procedures and corrective action protocols.

Audit frequency

Reviewed annually and updated whenever processes, ingredients or equipment change. Internal verification conducted on an ongoing basis.
